Some are old favourites, some childhood dreams, some generous & some improbable. 
But what's life without a little spice?


Ride the Orient Express.  Dance on stage, again.  Tell stories on the radio.  Write a column.  Dance in the rain.  Learn to juggle.  Open champagne with a knife (March 21, 2012, May 25, 2012).  Open beer bottles on the edge of picnic table.  Learn to Moonwalk.  Give the commencement speech at Brookside High School.  Keep Bees.  be able to identify 20 constellations & tell their stories.  Make pasta from scratch.  Learn to cartwheel & do the splits.  Be Ariel Webb on the aerial web.  Hit a bullseye with bow & arrow.  Hand write letters.  Get another tattoo with Mom.  Learn another language.  Have the courage to give birth (in progress)Make a quilt (November 29, 2012).  Runaway to the circus, again.  Learn to tango with Pete.  Go on a girly vacation annually.  Take a motorcycle holiday with my parents.  Chase fireflies and ice cream trucks with my children.  Run a B&B or summer camp in retirement.  Write with my Dad.  Keep travelling (Morocco 2011, Dublin 2012).  Teach in a classroom, again.  Financially support my family for a year.  Write a circus book with Valerie.  Make Compass Enterprises the family business.  Be a paid free-lance Geographer.  Campout in the backyard.  Learn to sail.  Host annual Halloween cocktail party (2011, 2012).  Whistle for a taxi.  Wear red lipstick.  Ride a gondola in Venice.  Drive a Vespa in Positano.  Buy wooden shoes in Amsterdam.  Stand on the Equator and Prime Meridian (living on it since September 2009).  See the Northern & Southern Lights.  Tend a kitchen/herb  garden.  Make Sock Monkeys.  Take a Poirot-style cruise down the Nile River.  Wallpaper a bathroom with National Geographics.  Experience Day of the Dead in Mexico.  Take my kids to Disney World.  Elope with Pete.  Smash grapes for wine (Lucille Ball style).  Hand out clown noses for Trick or Treat.  Offer 10 strangers dandelion puffs for wishing.  Host a surprise street breakfast.  Build a treehouse/pirate ship for my kids.  Host outdoor movies.  Help build a house or well.  Teach my daughter to drive stick.  Officiate a wedding or vow renewal.  Make kites with adults and fly them en masse.  Help build one of those sand castles/sculptures on the beach.  Commission art or furniture from a local artist.  Organize a retreat or conference.  Tip buskers once a month.  Send flowers anonymously.  Foster a child.  Help someone travel.  Live abroad (since July 2006)Work for National Geographic (summer 2001)Get a PhD (2010)Ride an elephant in a circus performance (August 2008).  Found & curate a magazine.  Own a beach house.  Be a visiting professor.  Sit at the top of a circus tent.  Take my kids to Africa.
